Data we collect and how we use it.

Privacy

DNDShield is built to work without collecting your browsing data.

What stays on your device

Ad and tracker blocking, filter-list matching, and cosmetic filtering all happen locally in your browser. Which sites you visit, what gets blocked, and your browsing history are never sent anywhere for these core features.

What's sent to DNDShield's servers (opt-in only)

  • If you create an account, your email and license/plan info, so paid features can be activated.
  • If you enable sync, your allowlist and settings, so they can carry across your devices.

Neither is required to use DNDShield's core ad and tracker blocking, which works fully signed-out.

Permissions

DNDShield requests broad site access because that's what's required to inspect and block ad/tracker requests on every page — the same permission every capable ad blocker needs. It's used only for blocking, not for reading or transmitting page content.
