Sometimes you need a site to work exactly as-is for a few minutes, without turning DNDShield off everywhere or committing to a permanent exception. That's what Temporary Allow is for.
How it works
Temporary Allow pauses DNDShield on the current site for a fixed window — 10 minutes or 1 hour — then resumes automatically. No need to remember to turn it back on.
Using it
- Open the DNDShield popup on the site.
- Under Temp allow, choose 10 min or 60 min.
- Protection resumes on its own when the timer ends, or tap Off to resume immediately.
When to use this instead of the allowlist
Use Temporary Allow to test whether DNDShield is actually the cause of a site issue, or for a one-off task — a checkout flow, a tool that only misbehaves occasionally. If a site needs to stay off permanently, move it to your allowlist instead — Temporary Allow resets itself, so it's not meant as a long-term fix.
FAQ
Does it affect other tabs on the same site? It applies to the site's host, so other open tabs on the same site are affected too.
Can I extend it before the timer ends? Tap the longer option again — 60 min resets the clock to a full hour from that moment.
